What Tomb Raider games should I play to get into the series?

Buying new Tomb Raider but never played any of the other ones and I was just wondering what older tomb raider games should I play? Should I just play Tomb Raider (2013)?

The stories aren't necessarily linked so you would be fine with just playing Tomb Raider 2013. I really like Anniversary, Legend, and Underworld though.

I've only played Tomb Raider 2013 and i loved it.

 

Same here, was a great change from the singleplayer games i played before it, and of course it looks gorgeous

tomb raider 2013 probably. though the older games aren't that bad.

True, the first game I got on my ps1 along with FF7. The Venice level was outstanding at the time.

But for modern gamers I'd suggest the 2013 reboot, great game but not that much actual tomb raiding iirc.

If you want to get a feel for the original without going back to real clunky graphics etc, try legend and anniversary. Underworld was decent but had a couple of game breaking bugs. There's a HD trilogy of those three, bet it's dirt cheap now as well.
