I understand that everymother board is different when it comes to this, but I have the power + and power - working fine and everything else is fine , exept for the audio jack pins. I have to plug my headphones into my monitor to hear through them, and it creates a loud static noise, what can I do? my mother board is a Gigabyte Technology B85M-DS3H-A thanks

Audio jack uses a standard plug that has nothing to do with the other I/O pins.

Look for the cable with AC97 or HD Audio on the side of the plug.then plug it into the spot your motherboard manual says to (Bottom left, white, F_AUDIO).

Or you could use the motherboards rear audio jack. Front audio jacks typically cause static too due to poorly shielded and thin wires.

What case are you using? older cases don't support the digital audio codec for the front connectors. They have the AC'97 codec. You could try switching from digital to AC'97 and look if the frontpanel connectors now work. there should be an option in the bios to change from difital to AC'97

Make sure you plugged the audio connector into your motherboard named "HD_AUDIO" DO NOT plug the AC'97 plug in.

Oh, try right clicking the audio icon in your taskbar and changing the playback device to what I'm betting is something with Realtek in it.
