I was reading the techno buffalo story http://www.technobuffalo.com/2016/01/08/japanese-physical-games-drop-13-percent/ and that got me thinking, it seems to me the industry has for a while now been heading into a digital only future, perhaps that will be here by 2020, I remember back when the xbox one launch microsoft had to backtrack on a digital only console because of the backlash from gamers http://kotaku.com/microsoft-is-removing-xbox-one-drm-514390310 but perhaps the industry just wasn't ready for the digital only age back then?

I'm not one for cloud gaming but i'm beginning to accept the future of digital only, heck if we look at mobile phone gaming that is digital only, the only downside i can see to a digital only future is the likes of nintendo doing price fixing like they use to back in the NES days which I think if I remember rightly that led to a court case about monopoly, but anyways sorry for my rambling on here, I was just wondering what other gamer's opinions are on the subject, many thanks, emma ^_^

Of course. The only reason anyone still buys physical copies of games is either collectors edition or stupid ISP with some shitty limit or speed.

I just wish we could re sell digital games... Even if we had to wait some months for it, and the company that sold the game would receive some profit from it.

I mean, like BD and DVDs, really sell to other people after we finish it.

Many in the games industry consider used sales worse than piracy
