I have owned this PSU for about a week now and noticed that a slight fan noise has been coming from the unit itself. This noise mostly happens when the computer is under a heavy load such as gaming or video rendering. It rarely happens when the system is idle and varies in volume. The computer otherwise is performing as intended and has not had any unexpected shut downs or anything else out of the ordinary.

Also i have managed to capture the sound whilst gaming, apologies that the sound quality is not the greatest.

Is this still ok to use or should i be looking to get a better PSU unit for my system? If so, which PSU would you recommend?

My system specs:

i5-4690K (NON OC)

GTX 960 (NON OC)

120GB Kingston SSD

1TB WD Blue HDD

ASUS Z97-P Motherboard

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU Cooler

Cooler Master CM 690 III Case

If you mean the grinding noise throughout the recording - bad fan
if you mean the "snap" sound - that might be an electrical issue.

Either way, RMA or replace

SeaSonic and Delta are the oldest and most trusted OEMs you can get.

A SeaSonic G-series (modular) or S12G (non-modular) is worlds better than the CS

I'd just request an RMA. A Corsair CS is fine for a system like yours and shouldn't behave like that. If you can get a refund a Seasonic G-series or EVGA GS would be awesome, about 550W.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
