390x temperature solution?

So after a few days of research and a few questions on the forums, I've come to the conclusion that my 390x runs REALLY hot for no good reason. It gets over 80*C in ARK Survival Evolved, Battlefield 4, and GTA V. This in turn causes the fans to ramp up quite loud, which I do not like AT ALL. I've played with the fan curve a little and it doesn't help much, it still get hots as fuck. So I have 2 options: RMA it, OR replace the thermal paste. I don't know how long the RMA process is, but if anyone can give me some info on that, please do. Now on to the thermal paste idea. Would it void my warranty? If not, I'm doing that. If it DOES void my warranty, I can't risk it. Anything helps. Thanks.

How so? I have dual 140's intake and dual 120 exhaust. That's really the best it gets for an S340. i'm not buying a new case right now either as I lack the funds to do so.

Have you tried playing with the side panel off to see if airflow is the issue?

Switch those around, you have I think positive air pressure which can cause dust built up. Make the 2 120s intake and 2 140s exhaust

my house is old and dusty (2 dogs). Even with the fan filter in the front the dust is unreal. I will have to move out in order to ever remove my side panel and run the pc

Negative causes buildup. It makes your pc have to pull from little nooks and crannies because the intake cant supply enough. I have it in my old rig and its literally disgusting. I dont even want to clean it because its so gross.

To answer the warranty question, it most likely will.

If you want to know for absolute sure, check your card. There should be four screws with springs under them that hold the heatsink to the chip. One of them should have a warranty void warning sticker.

If there isn't one, then they'd have no way to prove that you took the card apart and thus no justification to void your warranty.

 

*I would not go through the trouble just to replace the thermal paste in this scenario. That can definitely improve temps, but not drastically.

well multiple reviewers across the web have mentioned poor thermal paste application on their 390/390x samples.
