Video output issues

So i just built my new computer

CPU - i5 4460

Motherboard - As-Rock Z97 Pro4

Ram - Corsair Vengeance (4x2)

Power Supply - Apower 680 watts

GPU - EVGA 960 FTW SSC

 

When I put my video card in my computer, it started artifacting, so thinking I had a bad card I took it out and put my HDMI back into the motherboard for temporary use until I can replace my GPU. But, from time to time, the screen will go black, then I'll get a no signal and I have to reset my computer to get video output back. Help?
