Hey i've been having this issue for a little while now and my computer will shut off after anywhere between 5 seconds to over 6 hours. The issue got worse and It would only last 30 minutes and now it wont last more than 10 seconds so I decided to change the power supply today as I was told to do this from a computer shop near by, this didn't help and im very annoyed.

Do you have any idea what this could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No but seriously, it could be a myriad of things if it's not your PSU. Try doing a memtest and see what happens. Also check if any of your capacitors are blown.

Are you getting a blue screen or is your your computer just going black? Maybe your power socket is having issues, have you tried changing that?

Couldnt overheat in 5 seconds i wouldnt think

You never know, the fan might of stopped working or the heatsink isn't making proper contact, that can make things heat up real fast, but he probably would of noticed by now if the fan wasn't spinning

Do you have Windows 8?

Because since i have Windows 8, my PC is randomly shutting down too. I did not investigate the issue yet because for me it happens very rarely (maybe once a week and only if the PC is in Idle) and i don't have that much time atm :(

Also how would I check capacitors?

And I didn't realize it now shuts down every 10 sec, so nevermind the memtest suggestion.
