Win 10 - Start Menu Won't Open

Go to solution Solved by Weak1ings,

Restart your computer if you haven't already, I saw this on my Grandma's Windows 10 machine.

Hey guys,

All of a sudden my start menu, notification area, and calendar/clock windows won't open. This just started happening now and I don't know how to fix it... The search/Cortana window will open occasionally when I click it but most of the time it won't. Any help would be appreciated..

Thanks!

For the Best builds and Price lists here is a world where many points of the price have been predefined already for your convenience!

The Xeon E3 1231 V3 IS BETTER Than the Core i5 4690K and a Significantly better value for the non-overclockers or value shoppers.

The OS is like a kind food, Try it before saying if you like it or don't.

Wow I feel so stupid now... Just restarted and now it's working haha

Funny because I actually had turned off and on my pc multiple times before this, but I guess a proper restart is what it needed!

Thanks!

Just FYI, if you have fast startup enabled in Windows 8 or higher (it's enabled by default) then a shutdown is basically hibernate. It does not shut down like in Windows 7 or before, that's why the restart helped.
