Hi, so the past couple days ive set about overclocking my new system. Got my Gpu and cpu on a decent overclock (GTX 970 1480MhZ & i5-6600K 4.6GhZ). got htem both running cool and perfectly stable, on stress tests and no problems in games except one. ive focused on one game for this, GTA5. So before my overclock i ran a bench of gta5, took note of the setting and the min,max and avg FPS. done the same again when i finished my overclocking. The results show: Min Fps is down by 3 frames, Max is down by 31 and my Avg is down by 4.

I also notices from MSI afterburner that my GPU usage is down when overclocked and my CPU usage is way up after the overclock (in game)

Does anyone have any ideas why this is or what could be causing it?

If you're getting thermal throttling, you're going to be getting worse performance.

What are temps like?

CPU max - 34

GPU max- 57

That's throttling if it's on load...

Maybe he's running a watercooling loop as even with a H100i, my OCed 3750k (only 4.2ghz) hits 38c gaming during the winter...and 48c during the summer...(especially by how he lives in Scotland as well :D)

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

Yeah got a H105 push pull. So i pull my CPU overclock back to 4.2, ran the test again and they're worse than with the full overclock but still not as good as the stock settings :S
