IDE replacement SSD

Hi all,

I've been given an old Toshiba laptop that uses a 2.5" IDE drive that is dead.

Anyone tried using a 2.5" to mSATA like this to use an mSATA SSD? I know I won't get the same speeds however it'll be a little better than an IDE drive.

a regular ssd would be cheaper and would honestly be better cause even if its slower the ide bottlenecks so hard it wont help

an hdd will use up all the bandwidth ide can provide

For my pertinent links to guides, reviews, and anything similar, go here, and look under the spoiler labeled such. A brief history of Unix and it's relation to OS X by Builder.
