If the color doesn't match the build, it might not be as visible if you put them in the front behind the panel.

It doesn't matter which way I put them? I assumed closer to CPU, GPU, etc, better airflow.

I assumed you were going to put them in the front for intake since the case already comes with a top and rear exhaust.

Front as in facing the detachable front or facing the Mobo?

front for intake

Fans intake air from the side with the hub and exhaust out the side with the frame.
