Hello, have anyone seen/tried both 1080p and 720p on 5.5" screen? I'm putting a lot of attention towards screen quality and battery. I know that resolution is not everything, but I wonder if I should even bother with 720p screens.

1080p is pretty much ideal for 4" - 7" displays. I just bought 768p 10.6" tablet and it looks sharp enough. I would complain of many other things, but 768p on 10.6" looks much better than 1080p on 17.3" display. 720p on 5.5" display should look just fine. The difference can only be seen if you WANT to see it.

1080p is 400ppi, 720p is only 267. That's definitely noticeable. Going past 400 is hard to notice, that's why people complain about 1440p being a battery drainer. But 1080p is definitely worth it.

If you are looking for a 5.5 inch 1080p phone for a good price I recommend looking into LG G Flex 2. It was crap at launch so it dropped in price a ton, but every issue was fixed with Android 5.1.1, so now it's a great phone for an amazing price. It's also confirmed to get Android 6.0 which is more than you can expect at that price.

267eur~ for SD810, great camera with stabilization and stunning design.

Only real issue I noticed while using it is that screen brightness doesn't adjust much. It's not the most brightest and not the dimmest display, you can't dim it much at all. LG OLED ;(    It's still OLED, so blacks look stunning and it has high contrast so using it in bright sunlight isn't a problem either.

Also it runs Cinema 4K so you can record amazeballs quality video.

Location: Kaunas, Lithuania, Europe, Earth, Solar System, Local Interstellar Cloud, Local Bubble, Gould Belt, Orion Arm, Milky Way, Milky Way subgroup, Local Group, Virgo Supercluster, Laniakea, Pisces–Cetus Supercluster Complex, Observable universe, Universe.

Spoiler

12700, B660M Mortar DDR4, 32GB 3200C16 Viper Steel, 2TB SN570, EVGA Supernova G6 850W, be quiet! 500FX, EVGA 3070Ti FTW3 Ultra.

At 5.5", the difference is fairly noticeable with text.

I'll consider G Flex2. Seems like a good option.

1080p it is then.
