I feel like lots of interesting a exciting things are happening for the year 2016, and I am looking forward to every bit of it.

Let's have this thread about interesting things that are happening or coming out for consumer use on the year of 2016.

For me something really interesting is Space Tourism, right now it's extremely expensive but, over the years it will become more cost effective to take your own tour of outerspace :) Something I look forward too definitely if it ever becomes cost effective.. I would really love to experience what floating in outerspace is like, and maybe even make it my retiring wish to explore the stars till my day of death or die from an alien or something cool, idk. Haha

In other news; Korea's Hydro Bomb :P

Don't take me seriously here...

i mean, space tour. No vacations is really cost effective lol

Well, by cost effective, I mean, not a 20-30 million dollar trip for a single day :)

It's expected in 5 years that it will cost 10,000 per trip, or 1 million for a 5 day trip.

Not really new but I'm interested in seeing how 4K will take off particularly with the cable companies and so on.  Given that we are also approaching the physical limits as to what silicon can do in CPUs I'm interested in seeing how we make more powerful processors.

That will happen when suddenly launching from Earth no longer takes so much fuel that we could power linus's servers for an FULL HOUR.

It looks as if the peasants have risen up, and found swords!

But their sword's look a little short, if you know what I mean!

Good! The squires need training anyway!

Yeah, I'm quite interested in this too. I feel like the next material they find to use will be a huge leap from today's processors.

Yeah I'm not sure what else will come out but since money is to be made with increasing processing power its bound to happen.  Hell who knows maybe the most powerful processors will be made from diamond or something else.  I really dont know.

I think they`ll use light for processors somehow and make it lightning fast, hehe (pun intended)

to game or not to game, that`s the question

I was just thinking about that. With advances in fiber optics why not put them into our microprocessors.  Might be faster not to mention produce less heat.

IBM has already successfully created CPU's designed with carbon Nano tubes, that's the future for now.

sadly light does heat things up a bit, but it`ll be very different indeed

Source please?

Or do I have to go find it?

*my head keeps saying... "sauce... sauce... sauce..."

I appear to have mixed to bits of tech news together, the Nano tubes were a breakthrough, not a design, and the working processor was silicon-germanium.

Nano shit is making a huge break through apparently with everything... NanoSteel can possibly support a huge bridge that cars can travel on and the strand would be less thick than a piece of hair. Of course they'd use a lot of them, but it's pretty amazing this Nano stuff. I'm looking forward to hearing more about Nano's and how they will improve us in the future. I've even seen NanoBiotics.

It is amazing, it's a wonder something so small can provide so much.

The best part about it, it's manufacturer-able :D It's been done many many times, and placed under many tests, just need to start mass production, that in itself would be interesting to see. Mass scale nano creation.

Probably requires some big-ass mega factory!

I would so do this. This is like every kids dream come true. : )

I just honestly hate how people force it in your face like that.

Religion fascinates me in a different way than most, it's more of a, awe at how some people believe simply because they are told, not because they had a logical choice in it, and they only say what was spoon fed to them, instead of coming up with a logical reason of why they believe, that doesn't say "Religious" to me, that shouts "I follow everyone else!".

But this is a thread about SCIENCE! Not religion, but I'm more than welcome to discuss in private chat :) I like debating about religion.

Yeah it is, I try not to derail threads, :)
