Water Cooling Sound

Hello there, I have this pre-built gaming pc and its got water cooling. I keep hearing the pump making squishing noises and when i first turned it on it only did it once like every 30 minutes now its either every 5 seconds or like 5 minutes. Is this normal or am I just paranoid

Is it an AIO cooler or custom loop??

Squishing noises? A pump should be a hum, 'squishing' isn't normal although I don't know what you mean by this (Do you mean squeaking?).

I think he means air in the pump noise?

F**k I don't know how to explain it, if you have ever had a drink in your mouth and pushed it through your teeth its like that

those are bubbles. if it's an AIO, sometimes a fan speed reducer will make those subside. my H50 makes constant swishing noises when plugged into 12V, but with a fan speed reducer that shipped with my SP120s from corsair, they shut right up, reducing the pump from 1450 RPM to 1200, with only a 1 degree hit to temperatures, even with two consecutive fan speed reducers (1050 RPM) even on a 150W+ heat load from my GPU

Possibly but I wouldn't say that is a 'squishing' noise.

So like a water sloshing sound?

It's the sound a pump makes when it sucks tiny bubbled through and cycles them into your system. Is it a custom loop or an AIO?

I know what you're talking about. Just be sure that the pump has coolant to push through. You should be fine, as mine did that a lot when I first got it in the mail.

Top your loop off and make sure it's bled properly, otherwise you're gonna get that lol

I dont know if this helps KuZETli.jpg?1

Okay, have a look in your reservoir and see how much liquid is in it, if there isn't much your probably sucking air through your loop with your water. Easy solution to this is topping it up.

is it bad if it has air in it?

Not in your reservoir (Providing you do have some water in it), but if your pump runs dry with no liquid at all then yes! Very bad and turn it off ASAP. Don't worry about small bubbles though, they are harmless and unavoidable (you will have them for a small while as you bleed off your system).

Alright thanks guys was really worried

No problem, enjoy your system!

Also I would suggest you go and watch a few videos by people like Jayztwocents on youtube on how to do a custom water loop, it might prove useful for you as it will give you some vital information you really need to know about custom loops.

(Videos like this one)

Hope this helps!

Keep the Res topped up with proper coolant (Distilled or De-Ionized water, not tap water!) it will stop air being sucked into the pump. If you just filled it when you set it up, then the air will slowly escape into the res and the level will drop, it's completely normal and you shouldn't be too concerned.
