VBIOS Flashing

i sent a message to Gigabyte support since im having troubles with my 970, theyve advised me to flash my BIOS to a different version. thing is, im kinda freaking out because ive never flashed a VBIOS before and i really dont want to turn my card into a paper weight. im using VGA@BIOS utility. dont get my wrong it seems easy, realisticly i have to press " flash" but im not sure what they mean by this:

 

"Please note:

You can only update to a VBIOS version of the same series.

 If your VBIOS version is:

F1, it can only be updated with VBIOS versions F2-F9.

F10, it can only be updated with VBIOS versions F11-F19.

F20, it can only be updated with VBIOS versions F21-F29.

etc."

 

where do i find this? i backed up my current BIOS and its "GV-N970G1 GAMING-4GD.F40" so since its .F40 does that mean i can use F41-F49?

just downloaded F42 file from http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5209#bios

 

just want to make sure its compatible

Make sure you update both the VBIOS on your card.
