basicly im starting alot of 3d modeling projects for a company that is paying me, just a side job for me. and i want to record all my work. 

 

would like to be free

need to be full 1080p @ 30fps or more

OBS, like stated before, but MSI afterburner can also record your screen, it has few settings though, but it does have the option to record lossless, like fraps does.

Yeah, that thing.

 

I think you can record outside of games as well.

 

Tom's Guide tells me you can't. It makes sense, it works like Steam Overlay, not as a seperate program like OBS and FRAPS.

Nvidia GF-Experience has a button for Desktop recording.

For recording desktop, OBS although you need to know how to set it up with correct settings and such.

 

For switching between desktop and 3d programs, use Shadowplay with desktop recording.

shadow play works fine, tried it with 3D Modelling too

Just a note. You won't be needing to record higher than 30fps. That will be more than fine for slow-paced work.

There are also other freeware software that may be even better for desktop recording. But my vote still goes to OBS.
