Replacement fan for 212EVO

Hi,

The fan on my 212EVO is making a loud noise, so I'm looking to replace it.

I've heard really good things about Noctua fans, but I don't know which one I should get.

I live in Canada and don't have a set budget. My CPU is not overclocked, so I'm really looking for the most silent fan as possible.

Do you guys have some good 120mm fans to recommend?

Thanks!

Noctua NF-F12.  What CPU do you have?

Yea.  Slap a Noctua on the EVO and overclock that sucker.

yeah i have the 212 evo on my 4790k. It's loud only when it is like 70% fan speed or more. I am honestly looking to replace it as well.

CPU: INTEL Core i7 4790k @ 4.7Ghz - Cooling: NZXT Kraken X61 - Mobo: Gigabyte Z97X SLI - RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ares 2400mhz - GPU: AMD Sapphire Nitro R9 Fury 4G - Case: Phanteks P350X - PSU: EVGA 750GQ - Storage: WD Black 1TB - Fans: 2x Noctua NF-P14s (Push) / 2x Corsair AF140 (Pull) / 3x Corsair AF120 (Exhaust) - Keyboard: Corsair K70 Cherry MX Red - Mouse: Razer Deathadder Chroma

Bit of an AMD fan I suppose. I don't bias my replies to anything however, I just prefer AMD and their products. Buy whatever the H*CK you want.

would push/pull do anything on my 212 evo? Especially with better fans such as the aforementioned noctuas?

1 fan would be enough.  The heatsink isn't that thick.

The NF-F12 is pretty expensive, the only one showing up on PcPartPicker is at 34$, that's a lot for a 120mm fan, are there any other fans you would recommend?

If not then I don't mind paying that much for it

It used to be fine but recently it started making a rattling noise, I think the bearing on the fan might be the problem. I CBA to setup the cross shipping to have it replaced, so I'm looking for a high quality replacement that I'll be able to keep for my next build

but im just curious would it lower my temps any or at least allow me to run at a lower RPM and still have the same temps?

Save $.04 with the EK Vardar!  http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SIZI1HI/?tag=pcpapi-20  It's louder than the Noctua however.

Noctua is $19.99 on Amazon also.  http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SIZI1HI/?tag=pcpapi-20

Yes most likely.  Chances are that CM doesn't put $20 fans on a $30 cooler.

Have you tried lowering the fans speeds?

Why not oc with a 4770k?
