So, you want to use it as a WiFi extender, not a Modem?

Best way is to disable routing functions so it basically becomes an access point.

Thank you for your reply. Yes i want to use it as a WiFi extender. How do i go about disabling routing functions and using it as an access point?

Go into the router's control/admin panel. In there, you may have the option to set it as a bridge or access point. If so, enable one of those.

If not, disable DHCP, NAT and DNS.

EDIT: You'll also want to set the router's IP to something other than your main router's IP (they tend to default to 192.168.1.1). Something easy to remember, like 192.168.1.11 is often a good choice so you can get back into the configuration for it again.

I also have NETGEAR WN3000RP and I want to achieve something simmilar with my router (TP LINK TL-WR841N) in terms of simplicity of connection. Will bridge or access point setting acomplish something like this?(I want to achieve wireless connection between two routers)
