Will a single gtx 690 be enough to handle all the games which may come out in the next two years at max settings with a triple hd monitor setup or will I be forced to tone down the settings?(I can neglect some unique demanding games like crysis,I can tone down the settings for those)

i agree with the "thegamez"

the 690 has only 2gb vram effectively. And thats a bit too little for a triple HD setup.

Maybe consider to buy a TITAN --> more vram, nearly as fast as a 690, also you needn`t have to deal with driver issues, because it is only a single gpu card ;)

the amount of vram will really start to limit the 690 when it comes to triple screen. Even when if you were to get 2 690's. Are the screens 1080p? Do you already have a 690?

yep the screens are 1080p. I thought the 690 had 4 gigs of ram.You say 2 coz it's 2 per card right? No,I am planning on getting one but this actually helps me make a decision between getting 1 3d vision 2 monitor or 3 non 3D monitors!!

I wish I could bro,I doubt whether the TITAN will arrive in my country(India). They didn't get the 7990,or the special edition cards like Ares so....

So it won't be enough,so do you guys think I'd be better off with a single 120hz 3d vision 2 benq monitor?

Then i would go with a single high res monitor like the asus pb278q. It has a resolution of 2560 by 1440, so the vram of the 690 should be enough :)

Not enough vram for triple monitor.

Yeah, when you run GPUs in SLI, they both need to have the same textures in their respective RAM chips. So even when nVidia says that "the GTX 690 has 4GB of VRAM!!!", you only get 2GB of effective useable VRAM...

The GTX 690 will limit on you to two monitors because of the limited Vram that the GTX 690 has. I would go for the Titan for that price range.

So I guess if Im not planning on constantly upgrading my pc,one 3d monitor will have to suffice then!

Thanks guys

Great news for me,apparently the titan is arriving in India in the first week of March for almost the same price as that of the 690.Now as I haven't bought my gpu yet, should I go for the Titan or the 690.The 690 has around 400 cud cores more but the titan has a crapload of ram more!! So please gimme your suggestions and reasons for choosing that card. I appreciate your help!

Personally I would go the Titan. Multi monitor support (more Vram). Close to the 690 in frame rate. Less SLI problems and bragging rights that you have the fastest gpu (single) on the planet for quite a while. Mine you if you after pure horsepower why not the Aries II.

Yeah,I wish it were there in India.None of the limited edition cards make it here, like the powercolor 7990,ares II etc. I'm actually surprised that the Titan is making it's way over here. Are there any other Sli problems other than microstuttering which is a pain in the ass?
