should i get a 16gb memory or should i get 8gb with a higher clock speed like 2400.

i will be gaming 

CPU: i5 4690k  (overclocked to 4.3ghz)             CPU Cooler: Cryorig h7                 MOBO:  Msi Z97 pc mate             RAM: 8GB HyperX 1600 blue

GPU: rx480  4gb                                                 CASE: Corsair Spec-01 red              OS: Windows 10

PSU: EVGA 500   watt                                       SSD:    v60gb Mushkin ssd                HDD: 1000GB WD BLUE

faster ram doesn't matter. get 16gb

Just buy 16 GB of DDR3-2400, it's barely more expensive than 16 GB of DDR3-1600. And yeah, the speed matters when you're cpu bound. So right now that translates most to minimum framerates in cpu heavy games like Fallout 4 and GTA V, but it might also allow you to squeeze a little more life out of your system in the future when you could be cpu bound more often.
