HD 7950 price?

Just wondering if anyone who's been paying a bit more attention to the pricing of these hold 7000s might be able to explain why im seeing prices from 200-800 for used HD 7950s?

 

I have an old gigabyte windforce 7950 i've been sitting on as a spare for a while, and was about to throw it at a friend for a few bucks before I noticed. Whats going on here 0.o

from what I saw at a few places, it apparently had something to do with mining

i generally seem them for $150 USD MAX  and once saw 2 for $200, almost snagged it

They are probably mac cards 

people flash the mac bios on the cards and sell it for insane amounts

This^ people are selling 'Mac Pro' GPUs for unreal amounts of money. They're ripping off people who were already ripped off by buying a mac in the first place.
