I'm interested in knowing if anyone else has this issue. I reinstalled Windows and it's still happening. No matter whether I click the start icon or press the windows key on my keyboard, the start menu isn't showing until about 1 second afterwards. Not a big deal, just wondering.

It's just the Windows animations, you can remove them by navigating through the following steps:

1. Search for 'This PC' and right click the 'tile'. Click Properties

2. On the Left hand menu, click Advanced System Settings

3. Under the Performance tab click Settings

4. Disable the top 7 (that's what I've done), it makes everything look snappier and faster

No, guys, you're not catching my drift. The animation doesn't START until about 1 second after I hit the start button. It never used to do it. I've been using Windows 10 since it came out, pretty much. I did a fresh intall of the updated Windows 10 ISO not long ago and everything worked fine for a while. Now the start menu is acting up. Could it be something to do with me disabling Cortana?

Edit: Fixed!!! Went into SystemApps in the Windows folder and there were 2 Cortana folders. One folder was the disabled one and the other must've been some sort of bugged copy. I deleted the bugged folder and there's no delay anymore.

As the Start Menu is fully rendered by the GPU, the GPU might have trouble rendering it, despite a powerful GPU.

Make sure you have the latest AMD graphics drivers installed on your system (also try the latest beta drivers, if any). If you do, uninstall them, reboot, and re-install them. Does that help?

No need, but thanks anyway.
