fx 8350

Would an 8350 be able to run and stream modern games at 1080p and 60fps?   I am also equipped with 8gb of ram and a gtx 970.

I currently have an fx-6300, but I would like to upgrade to an 8350. Im up for any recommendations to my build and thanks

Yes, it would handle them fine, here's how modern games run on that combo (8350+970) but you need a good motherboard to overclock 8350. If you have a bad one, there's no point in upgrading to 8350, just sell your stuff, add up some more money and get a Xeon E3-1231v3 + a cheap motherboard

Oh the 8350 will do fine with almost anything you throw at it. I have mine OC'ed to 4.7 Ghz and I render 4k videos with it.

 

It's a pretty good processor. Unless you're playing something insane, this CPU will likely do just fine.

Depends on the settings and the resolution, but yeah, the 970 might be not enough for some games to get 60FPS all the time but CPU-wise it should be fine. 8350 is like your 6300, but binned (can overclock higher) and has one module (two "cores") more.

8350 is a swell processor and you will be fine especially with a 970.

OCing an FX processor is easy as hell. And most corsair coolers work with the AM3 socket

I can OC my 8350 to 4,7ghz stable with an aftermarket aircooler.

For pure gaming its not really worth upgrading from a 6300 to an 8350.

gtx 970 is on the high end of 1080p gaming. Anything more and the extra frames (120+) at 1080p don't really matter and you'll see the better quality with a higher res monitor (2k+).

Them extra core will help with streaming and video editing (if he's saving the game recordings for later upload)

Yes, and I don't know.

 

I OC'ed mine to 4.7 right out of the box.

 

(Then again I have liquid cooling, but still, it was super easy)

Depends on your motherboard more if you have liquid cooling!
