Fluctuating Pings

Go to solution Solved by MoonlightSylv,

Problem the only way I can really do that is by drilling through my wall which isn't going to happen. :(

Powerline adapters.

I have just started to get into playing CSGO but have found I have been stopped by massively fluctuating pings in any server I joined (both valve and non-valve servers) I also experience the same issues in TF2.

My router is a BT Homehub 5 and I'm using a USB dongle also using Linux Mint 17.3.
I could also use powerline but I read somewhere that it's even worse for pings.
Thanks B)

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

Then you're not really gonna solve the fluctuating ping problem unless you use Powerline -- which may or may not be the same depending on the age of your house.

you know you can just run a long ethernet cable along the corner of the wall at the floor or ceiling, right...

I am aware of that being an option but it just wouldn't work in my house at all.

well then you're going to need to spend a few hundred dollars on a high power access point and a good quality PCIe network adapter with AC

yes if your not using wifi, and use ethernet.  your ping fluxuates alot less,

My ping used to fluctuate all the time but since I upgraded to 5GHz I haven't had a single problem that could be blamed on Wi-Fi
