I currently have an fx-6300 and just upgraded to a gtx 970. I was trying to get my friends to see what my new games were like. I started streaming battlefront and barely had an fps drop so I thought i could stream rainbow six siege. I started having very bad fps drops, i had 60+ fps then it would drop down to 5. I would like to stay within the AM3+ Processors so I can save some money and not have to buy a new motherboard. Tell me what upgrades I should make to make this a streaming boss.

My Build:

fx-6300

2x 4gb g.skill ram

GIGABYTE GA-970A-D3P AM3+

MSI GTX 970

full tower case

600w psu

Thanks for your help :D

Hello, I am using an AMD FX8350. I'm very happy with it and it is AM3+. I also own an I7 2600k and it is quite similar in performance.

AMD FX8350 Black OC 4.5ghz--NZXT Kraken X31--ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0--MSI R9 380 4G--Corsair RM750--Corsair 16GB Vengeance

Logitech G300--Roccat ISKU FX--Logitech Z623--HyperX Cloud II

If you don't want a new motherboard your best option would be an 8350. But your current motherboard probably won't be able to handle much of a overclock.

Keep in mind, dips in framerate will still happen. AMD fx cpus don't perform well in games. The impact from streaming with an 8350 will be a lot less though

My rig:
CPU: i5 4690k 24/7 @4.4ghz (1.165v) Max 4.7ghz (1.325v) COOLER: NZXT Kraken X61 MOBO: Asus Z97-A   RAM: 16GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical   GPU: EVGA GTX 970 SSC   PSU: EVGA GS 650W   CASE: NZXT Phantom 530 HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB + WD Black 2TB

That's because Battlefront isn't really demanding. They focused all of their efforts in making the game look pretty and run smoothly (for single cards anyway), instead of actually making the gameplay any good.

Regardless, the best you can do is.... uh........... Well, I guess you could try to find a used 8350? The frame drops will still happen anyway, but there's really nothing else you can do if you aren't willing to buy a new mobo.

Oh, and you can also buy a cooler and OC the hell out of your 6300. In fact, that's what I'd do right now.
