how does one know how much power a system needs?

hello, i am building my first computer so that i could play fallout 4 and i have a r9 280x gpu and an intel core i5 4690 cpu i impulse bought a 475W psu but i am not sure if it is enough power. if it is not enough power how many watts minimum does my psu have to be? it will be great help if someone could tell me

what psu? have never seen a 475w psu..

Pcpartpicker gives you an estimated wattage.
