Best possible cpu cooler?

Strom
Go to solution Solved by Strom,

Noctua NH-D14 or NH-D15 the preformance jump from the D14 to the D15 is nothing to huge. and about the h110iGTX I have a H100i myself and I needed to change the fans because for my taste it was to loud (they are rocking some EK Vardar at 700RPM now) the noise of the pump is still driving my nuts (Im sorry I became a silence type of guy since last week).

because u have a R5 with a big air cooler u will be albe to keep the modi vents on and with the ULN (ultra low noise adapters) u won't be hearing ur CPU cooler anymore

Edit: I have an R5 myself with an AIO and my friend has an R5 with the NH-D14 and his is much quieter!

Seems like i'll get the NH-D15S if i can't do some ghetto modding with Liqtech 240  ;)

What is the best cpu cooler for upcoming amd zen cpus? My case is Fractals Define r5 and my budget is max 150€. My main requirement is silence and my current cpu is i5 6600k and cooler is Be Quiet! Shadow rock slim. Do i go for something like pure rock pro 3 or cryorig r1 universal or liquid cooling for example liqtech 240 (but i probably need to remove some moduvents and lose silence?

I'm Linus too. (:

its not if you change the stock fans

if you just want air cooling then get a NH-D15

I have a Corsair H105, which is slightly different to the H100iGTX and can barely hear it, it also has a pretty decent pump in it and I've got no complaints as of  yet :)
