Is there anyway to decrease the stock intel cpu fan speed to below 1000rpm? Tbh it sounds so darn noisy to me in the new PC i built for my parents

I've tried setting min CPU fan speed (20%) to its lowest already (which is 20%) while setting the low limit temp to 50c

I tried using speedfan which doesnt seem to drop the CPU fan speed below 1000rpm either....

The CPU's a g3250 and it's hovering around 39-41c on idle

What kind of fan header is it connected to? Is it 3 pin or 4?

4

hmm. Odd. My guess was gonna be that it was using voltage control instead of PWM. But that's likely not the issue. Maybe you just got a crappy fan.

It's the stock cooler for intel xD

For speed fan i did tick the controlled speeds, change from smart fan to manual on advanced settings, and ticked the auto control spd

Have you checked out the setting sin the Speeds tab?

Setting sin? Ive worked on speedfan with my main rig and it works perfecrly fine tho... Even tho the cpu fan doesnt go below a certain percentage of fan speed. The chasis fan do indeed turn off

It was a typo.

Have you tried resetting the motherboard settings to default?

Ive tried all diff combination

(Default mobo settings, spd fan used)

(modified mobo settings, spd fan used)

(modified mobo settings, spd fan not used)

All of which doesnt allow the cpu fan to spin below 1000rpm (note it is a intel stock cooler)

Temp probe for cpu is working fine too (cpu idles ard 40c)

Yes

Are you sure the cooler is plugged into the first cpu_fan header?

Is the fan speed stuck at ~1000rpm or does it just not get any lower?
