Need suggestions for a new build

Hey

I am buying a new pc and turning my current one into a media center/trouble shooting PC.

I need help deciding on 2011-3 or 1151 and which motherboards/CPU for the socket.

The PC will be used for mainly AAA games on a 2560x1440 screen and 2 other 1080p screens for multitasking.

EDIT: money is not an issue

Thanks

Asrock x79 extreme6, intel 3820, gtx 980. 16gb patriot 2133mhz, h100i

What sort of budget are you thinking of?

Woops forgot to add that, really no budget, just nothing overboard like a $2000 motherboard

x99 board paired with a 6700k is the best.

I don't recommend this because my first build will just do the job fine at handling games at 1440p. This is just an overkill build you can get for $2000:

I'm only planning on replacing the motherboard, CPU and RAM right now. I'm heavily leaning towards buying the 6600k and motherboard you suggested. Maybe a different motherboard though as the metal heat sink at the top is going to interfere with my top radiator.

Just put my PC back together and here is are my fans just making it in with the motherboard with the plastic tip cut off the power supply cord. (ignore screws i rushed it)

Hm, the Z170-P looks to be more suited to you then: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-z170p

You could honestly use a I5-4690K instead of the I7-4790K. The I7 does a bit better than it if but if you are mainly using it mainly for gaming it saves you some money and there really is a noticeable decrease in performance. Correct me if I am wrong sorry just going off of what I've heard about the I7.
