Good Build Or Not?

So, since this is my first post it will not be the best, but I will try my best to explain this. I'm stuck with a 2014 home pc that I put a MSI 750 TI 2GB into it, Since I was not good with computers at that time (Not Saying I Am Right Now) I thought OMG IMA GET 1Billion FPS on EVERY games... Wrong ... So I still do get an average of 40-60 fps on most games like ARK Survival Evolved on Medium(Which is a pretty hard game to run) Settings, But I want more, I want to have that experience that is nice for gaming, and not have to be the one with a "OK" pc when I can have a better GAMING PC that I am going to make and that is not Pre-Built already for me.

I am going to say right now, my price limit is going to be anywhere from $ 900 - $1000 USD.

So then I decided to start right now, I have this build which I really don't know if it will even work that well, I still have confidence in myself, I have Put into this pc.....

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/bM6Dt6

I usually don't say this, but

that CPU will bottleneck that GPU

Also, don't match that PSU with those other parts.

I used to be quite active here.

If it were me i would get a 390X over the 980, its way cheaper , but performs pretty close to the 980. I feel this would be really good especially in your budget. With this savings you have almost an extra $120 to spend on a MUCH better CPU, probably switching over to Intel.

also, a 390X will run ARK at high settings (a couple epic) at 35-45 FPS (usually above 40FPS)

Also, CX PSUs arent really recommended.

EDIT: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ns2rZL

That build is a little pricier, but its double the RAM, and the CPU is waaaayyy better. and you can run games the way you desire on the 390X. You could probably save some money by getting a cheaper motherboard too, or even stepping down the GPU to a R9 390 which still should have no issues running ARK at least at medium.

I edited that build from a build i recently did for a friend, and quickly picked out a PSU, so others might want to vouch for it or recommend another.

EDIT 2: since you bumped your budget to $1000, you could even upgrade your CPU to a 4790k, which is a massive improvement over the FX-6300 and wont have any bottlenecks, even in multi-GPU scenarios. You go from a bottom-tier CPU to a top tier intel i7.

So, could you send me a nice CPU that will not restrict the preformance of the 980?

Its not much, but I bumped my price up to 1k

I'm assuming you have a HDD already so here's my recommendation, I've put in i5 4690K and Z97 so you can overclock:

Okay, so if you did the build that way the GTX 980 would be performing closer to that of a GTX 970.

Here's what I would do with a similar budget-

Sergeant, United States Marine Corps

Network Administrator, Comptia A+, Security+, Cisco Certified Networking Associate

From a G3258 to dual Xeon E5-2670's

I actually think this would do better, the Fury is a much better card than the 980:

I would not buy the build you posted, All three of the builds posted by us so far significantly outperform the first one.

thats a good build. He could either pick that one for more GPU power or go with a 390X and a 4790k for more CPU power.
