New memory broke computer

Go to solution Solved by MoonlightSylv,

First post, sucks it's on a bad note...

I have a Lenovo ThinkCentre M58p that runs:

Evga Geforce GT 730, 64-Bit Windows Vista, 4GB  PC3- 8500u RAM, 2 hard drives, and a Intel Core 2 Duo. It serves me well, for gaming, and I personally like Vista, waiting to upgrade to Windows 10. I needed more RAM, was upgrading to 8GB of Crucial's 2 x 4GB DDR3 1600 PC3-12800. When I put in the ram, the computer started beeping at me. It died a few days ago, I was able to get it running with one of the original sticks of ram. The Crucial ram fried 2 of my sticks, and with only Crucial Ram in my computer, it gives a beepcode of 3-3-3-3. Does the Crucial warranty cover this as it said on their website it was supposed to work with my desktop?

as long as all the timing are the same it shouldn't matter

I find that the RAM defaults to the highest supported JDEC standard of the slowest stick.

yes if you in ones with different settings it will default to the settings of the lowest stick. but its better to make sure the timings are the same just incase

I got the original 4 sticks to work, using the "shock of life" as I call it. I just unplug the PC after installing a card of RAM, then discharge all the capatitors by holding in the power button. Annoyed as all other that the Corsair sent 4 sticks to the grave, and the PC seems slower now, any (free) software that could be useful in testing speed of the RAM, as it's definitely slower than it was before, and Steam sale's don't wait...
