WinX connects to WiFi like any other Windows OS.

 

What is the issue you are having?

Also list your system specs as it will make it easier for us to give better advice in case your experiencing an issue with either the wifi card/software or the OS itself.

I guess you could go into the firewall control panel and go onto the setting [Turn firewall on or off] and either try blocking connections tick box on the public network settings or try to turn the public network firewall altogether in the settings if this is what you're referring to.
