Need some advice

Firefly_

So basically in the next few months I'm going to be building a new PC.

I'm not a hardcore gamer when it comes to quality, I play valve/source games like CS GO and Garry's mod. But don't know what I might play in the future when I have a capable PC.

I'd like the option to possibly stream/record/render. Not sure if I'll need it but might be a good thing to have.

SSD isn't an absolute need unless it helps with other stuff I want. I can wait an extra 10 seconds for startup. I'd be fine loosing it for performance somewhere else and less money.

...Yeah.

Had this suggested a few months ago http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/_Fire_Fly_/saved/GnHTwP

I changed a few things to see the price and have this http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/LpxHXL

I'd like to keep the price lower but can try to stretch it a bit. Probably no further then the $1190 mark.

I'm wondering

-Are the 970 and/or i7 worth the extra money.

-Can I get similar performance for cheaper.

-Can I get better performance for the same price.

-If I should just stick to the first build.

Also a place to get cheaper windows or something would be nice.

or if I can transfer my current windows(OEM) to the new PC.

I think that's everything, Thanks for the help.

Sincerely Firefly.

Top build should be more than enough,

The 970 isnt worth the extra but a 390 8GB is

The i7 isnt worth it, if you wanted to OC get a i5-4690k + Z97 board otherwise stick with the locked i5 + H97

Alright, thanks Think I'll go with the 390 if not just sticking to the original.

does the model of 390 matter.

While you're here got any suggestions on a cheaper case still keeping the side panel window.

I've added a CPU cooler for overclocking and changed your SSD and PSU and switched the 970 for a beefy 390.

the 970 has the advantage of game recording. It depends on the software you use, some of them favors nvidias cuda. The i7 will only have a benefit while rendering

Thanks. How hard would it to install the cpu cooler and ssd at a later time.

Alrighty, Thanks

Ok, Thanks.

i5 should be fine, especially if I OC.

It wouldn't be hard at all. Just don't overclock until you get the CPU cooler.

Alright, I'll probably have to do some searching when the time comes to not **** something up.

Thanks again :)
