Hi there! I'm new to the linus tech tips forum, and I wanted to say hello. I'm a hobbyist PC Builder, who has alot of spare time. I have never truely built a PC from scratch, and I want a decent rig for games like COD Black Ops 3, GTA 5, and fairly demanding games. I'm open to any suggestions on what to buy for my build, I'm maxed for a budget of 700$ maximum a month, meaning I'm going to be building as time goes on. Please be honest, and remember my price limit for suggestions of my gaming build. Thanks!

It is, technically, meaning my true name is Edward.

Ummm, that list is way over $700

I know that it's way over 700. But the build will be done PER MONTH. Parts will be bought PER MONTH, meaning that my max will not be reached during this time- being the most expensive part here is the GPU, but I appreciate you caring for my budget.

-EDIT-

Overkill? Huh. I still believe that it will be future-proofed aswell, meaning I can game on fairly modern titles.

Ohhhh okay. Still overkill though. I'll make a more reasonable list for you. Any color theme you want? Monitor? Keyboard and mouse? Anything else I should know?

The color theme itself is Black and Blue, matching my already bought Keyboard and mouse. I also have already purchased a monitor for it- Well, it's more of a TV. Still, it's going to be a monitor, as I don't care about lag on the tv, as it's on GAME mode.

Mmmmm, I'd upgrade to a 1440p monitor later on. Whether you buy it or not, I'll include in the list, just so you have a good link. Now, one last question, do you play CSGO? Yes, this is related to parts picked.

Also, I don't recommend buying parts separately in case one is defective. Save your $700/month until you have enough.

Do you really need 6tb of storage?

In reality, that 1tb ssd is all you need.

Well, I have alot of games. Also, the Windows 10 is mostly because I can't find any consumer versions of windows 7 on the market. Pro for the most features out of 10.

But 6tb of games? That's crazy amounts of storage...

Windows 10 is cool, just confirming that you actually wanted the pro version

True. This pc is mostly futureproofing, I guess you could say.

True. This pc is mostly futureproofing, I guess you could say.

Future proofing is very tough. Most of the time it is in vain. Instead, leave room for gradual upgrades.
