Need help finding a good laptop

Hiebly

Hi gang... going to college next semester and need a good laptop, really looking for high build quality. Anyone who can point me to some good product lineups (I know each big manufacturer has some good options and some real shitty stuff too) would be very appreciated

I'm in Canada with a budget of about $1700-1800 CAD to spend on the laptop (before tax), though of course if there is a good one for less I'll happily save some dollars. I'm looking for maximum of 15.6" screen, and would prefer it have good enough graphics to play some games on it... doesn't need to be a powerhouse gaming system, since that's what my desktop is for, but I'd like to be able to play stuff like Smite, Civ 5 etc smoothly on it so I'm thinking a GTX 950M or 960M would be ample fine. Doesn't need to be a 970M or 980M or anything like that.

I'd like it to have SSD storage (though a small SSD is fine if it also has an HDD), at least 8GB of RAM, and a decent speed CPU (like 2.5GHz or higher i5/i7, doesn't need to be quad core though I definitely wouldn't complain if it was). I'd also like it to not be too thick, as a lot of the "gaming" branded laptops are like 1.2" thick which is pretty damn big for something that will be transported pretty frequently.

Basically the minimum specs I'm looking for is:

Dual-core i5/i7 @ 2.5GHz (or more)

8GB RAM

256GB SSD or 64-128GB SSD + an HDD

GTX 950M GDDR5

With max budget being about $1700-1800.

So far the only one I've really found is this Acer Aspire V15 Nitro Black Edition, but I'm not sure how reputable of a manufacturer Acer is.

This, definitely this. Or someone may pop by and suggest a Lenovo Y50.

I've never even heard of Eurocom. How is their quality control, customer support, etc? The prices seem really good so it worries me they cut corners somewhere D:

The build quality of their machines are definitely up there, because they use Clevo barebones. Customer support I'm not sure, because I have not bought from them before. Typically companies which use Clevo barebones sell laptops for a rather cheap price.
