£400 Gaming PC

Maadde93

Hi

looking to put together a gaming rig because my shitty laptop finally broke. I'm from the UK and my budget can't really go above £400, i'll be running 2 monitors which i already have, and i also don't need any peripherals. This is what i've put together and would be grateful for any comments from someone who actually knows what they're doing when it comes to this (unlike me).

CPU: Intel Core i3-4170 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor  (£89.50 @ CCL Computers)
Motherboard: Asus H81M-PLUS Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  (£44.49 @ Ebuyer)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 950 2GB Superclocked Video Card  (£127.13 @ Aria PC)
Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case  (£49.98 @ Aria PC)
Power Supply: Corsair Builder 430W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  (£40.49 @ Aria PC)
Total: £404.01
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

I will likely be adding some more RAM and an SSD when I get my next paycheck.

thanks in advance

For the parts list, can I use like 1 used thing? I can squish in quite a bit more performance.

Don't some new games argue with dual core CPUs? I suggest putting the money towards a quad-core. Pretty sure that some game like Far Cry 4 couldn't run with a dual core.

Maybe I Like Bacon?

"Some AMD A88X chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Kaveri CPUs."

Is there an easy way around this? Or should I just buy a different mobo?

It shouldn't need a BIOS update unless you get it off the shelf at a store. That's just a generic message for all mobos of that type.

Are you certain pal? This is taken from an amazon review (which is where ill buy it from due to some vouchers I have)

"can't review this eitherway; I ordered for a new build using an athlon 860k, sadly the one recieved, and I suspect this is true of most of them, was not compatible with the new FM2+ Kaveri cpu's without a bios update and if you don't have an old cpu to do said update your stuck with a very expensive paper weight."
