Cooling

Go to solution Solved by vK 3 1 RON,

K but plzzzz help with the graphics card cooling I'm really afraid

Trust me. You are fine on air cooling. Like I said, water cooling GPUs is only for extremists that want super low temps.

Do I need to cool my graphics card

Note:it's my first time

No, the stock fans will be enough. To be honest, if you don't mind the temperatures, the card will become unstable before it thermal throttles due to overclocking. If it were a reference 980 ti that'd be another story, and I've heard a lot of good things about EVGA and their cards. Personally I have an MSI 980 ti because it looks better in my case and I'm not losing too much on performance.

Short answer. No.

So even if I over lock I don't need water cooling, do u think I should increase the airflow, I'm confused

as long as your not bios modding and pushing 1.3v into your card you should be fine for temps with this card :D

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/C6FFRB I don't know if you wanted this, but I read your other post and you wanted a 'lower price.' So I've done that a little, I kept in the I7 and made a few changes, it could be lower but I changed the fans, also I couldn't make a huge difference but it still is a fairly big one if you're not comparing it to the 3000 (near enough) previous build :) Finally, I changed the SSD to a 250GB Samsung 850 Evo, I wasn't sure if you wanted one of the SSDs that plug into a M2 slot so I decided to go with a classic (Much cheaper) option of a solid block, not a stick. Though I doubt you'll notice differences in everyday use.

EDIT: I completely forgot to mention that I changed the monitor, but it's still a 27" and will most likely suit your needs perfect, of course if you don't like any of these changes you can just re-replace the parts :)

Put in my mind I'm going to sli in the future but it would be dual not triple or quad

you would stil be ok

If you manage to get 2 of the same cards in SLI then you needn't worry about BIOS problems or even overclocking problems as they should be within 1-4 degrees higher than previously your single card was. This is purely because of it radiating heat.

I'm sr but what's bios modding

most cards are limited to a certain voltage and power draw .. you can change the limit of voltage to higher than stock and let your card draw more power to get higher overclocks.. on air you can probably do a small voltage increase from the stock limit, but this means more heat.. on air you can probably do a small voltage increase through bios flashing.. nothing too much though as it would probably get too hot

Thx a lot but going with a stick I essential for me since I transfer files a lot and why did u change the case fans are they really that bad

I'm sr but what's bios modding

It's basically overclocking and setting profiles on a part, telling the computer "Put 1.2V through this card and try to reach 1500Mhz on the memory!"

P.S. I'm a noob at overclocking so I might have messed up that Mhz reading.

All right, well just edit that SSD out :P And I changed the fans based on what the majority of the people said in the last post. Personally I wouldn't know but a lot of 'worthy' people said so.

Oh I'm going to do that but in the far future so still I don't need airflow improvement or water cooling, sr for being a nuisance

A) You're not a nuisance, B ) Someone has told you that as long as you don't put 1.3V through the card and follow a guide that will explain what's a safe overclock. You'll be absolutely fine on the air cooling. Water cooling is only for the extremists that want it to look sexy and get real low temps.
