Fx 6300 overclocking

So I have an fx 6300 that I want to overclock but I can never get it past 4.2 ghz I want to get it to 4.5 or a bit more but I can't. It's not a heating issue it just blue screens when I start up my pc. So any ideas?

What are your PC specs?

What to?

This will depend on the quality of your silicon and it vaires by chip. I'd recommend increasing the vcore voltage by 0.05v and check if it's stable, if it's not increase it another 0.05v.

my Fx-6300 is Oc to 4.6ghz with a CM Hyper 212 Evo. mobo is an Asrock 970 Extreme3 R2.0. purrs like a kitten.

edit: My bios settings looks like that:

OC Mode : Manual

then another option will appear Overclock mode yadada: manual

my Cpu Frequency : 214

pce : stays at 100

spread spectrum : disabled

Cpu active core control : all cores

Amd turbo core: disabled

Amd power management: disabled

Multiplier voltage : manual

Cpu multiplier : 21.5 @ 4601mhz

cpu volt @1.4625

and leave the rest as it is.

Go to the ADVANCED page and cpu config

disabled everything except: Secure Virtual mode.

may your framerates be high and your temperatures be low. #pcmr

dont forget that those setting works for me, not all chip OC the same. it really is a trial and error process, juggling the CPU frequency, the Cpu Multiplier and the voltage.

good luck!
