Hey guys i'm in a bit of a situation here

Basically should i buy a used i7 960 with Asus Rampage 3 Extreme Mobo for £180 or should i buy all new system based around a i5 3570k ? The i5 option will mean that i wont be able to buy my water cooling stuff and what not :(. But im not sure whats better to do LOL

Any advice would be appreciated :D

I am a I5 2500k user, and I highly recomend the I5 3570k, like helltech said the 2nd hand one is not worth the price, with your I5 you will have your own warranty and the saftey of knowing its brand new. You can always get water cooling later on. For the price definatly the new stuff.

CPU- I7 7700K @ 4.4Ghz, RAM- 32 Gig Hyper X @ 2800 mhz , GPU - GTX 1080ti Strix 11gb , MOBO- Asrock Fatality Z270 , SSD :Kingston Hyper X SSD Fury and Samsung 500gig

I dont recommend you to buy used becuase their warranty could be expiring soon and you don`t know how they used this processor. I would recommend you to get a 3570k because you get your own warranty like Glathier said and you won't go into any troubles because your cpu that you bought is new.

go for the old i7.

it is still a cpu which will perform just as well as the rest, especially under water. find the benchmarks ;)

and about the warranty from the cpu, how many times did you have a dead cpu? i have NEVER seen one except for the extreme overclocked ones (with LN) or those with faulty mobo pins.

Dont understimate my skillsz, you might look foolish.

If he is planning on using it for gaming then the i5 will actually perform just as well as the i7. If you're building a gaming rig save the 100 dollars and put them towards a better gpu
