Memory compatibility

Go to solution Solved by manikyath,

i know dell and hp boxes can be picky on the ram you put in them, but i doubt it'll be a problem to put dell/hp ram in other boxes.

Can HP memory be used in any other motherboard? I bought a computer (PC, monitor, mouse and keyboard) for quite cheap cuz it has a Q9550 in there and that pays off the PC itself, but, there's an issue, it's a HP workstation and HP is known for making stuff that only works on their mobos and such. So the workstation has 2x2GB of DDR2 ram, can i use that RAM in another PC? Cause this is HP i wouldn't be surprised it wouldn't work.

Yeah, i looked at the RAM and saw that it's made by a company called ''Hynix'', had their memory before, no issues anywhere, thanks for the help :)
