great thanks.

It's a great PSU, but is there any specific reason as to why you decided to go with NVIDIA over AMD on this one? After all, the R9-390 does have a 5-15% higher performance rating than the 970.

Paired with a AMD Opteron? no.

Paired with an Intel Celeron? overkill.

Paired with an Intel Core i5 4460? Yeah it is fine.

Please be more specific when you post questions like this.

Also, please consider the AMD Radeon R9 380.

sorry didn't think it was needed, the cpu is i5 4690.

Even though it's the FTW+ edition 650W is fine ye?

I already i have the PC ;p my psu blew the other day, so I'm just gonna get a new one as it's pretty much the same cost as sending it back to evga for warranty replacement

650w is overkill for any of these. A decent 500w would already be plenty.

Here are som enumbers with an oc'ed 5960x.. http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-970-oc-mini-itx-review,7.html

The 970 is easily better than the 380 and is more on par with the 290x.

I believe he meant to say "390".

Ahh, that would make a lot more sense.

Buy the best for the money, not the best money can buy in your price range.

No pricing was mentioned.

No, I did not mean the R9 390.

I meant the R9 380.

Compared to the 970, the R9 380 is far superior in many scenarios where data-computation (mining, folding, video-rendering, or any other GPU-Accelerated task) is required, the R9 380 gets the shit beat out of it.

Refer to post 12.

I'm fairly confident in saying a 100 USD difference in price is worth the 30-40% boost.

For the money.

But a 390 is even better.

Yes.

Good job.

But those cards can range from $330 all the way to $550.

Are you serious? Are you confusing it with a 390X?

390' s can be purchased NEW for 290 USD.

Oh sorry. I only include MSI & Sapphire in my price comparisons.

And I may have some of my prices mixed up.

You have to realize, I am basing most of my approximations on memory.
