Hey, Im planning to buy a gtx 980 ti next week since my 680 is getting a bit underpowered for the things i want to do, but there is something i want to know, my gtx 680 has a directcu II 3 slot cooler which is massive and i dont think my card has ever exceeded higher than high 50s overclocked. i really love that cooler and it would be awesome if i could cheap out on my new 980ti and buy a refrence card. so my question is, if the ram coolers do not interfere with the directcu II cooler is it possible to use it on the 980ti without modding anything. are the screw placements the same in 900series as they are in 600 series?

somehow I highly doubt it'll fit.

no, the PCBs are different and the cooler isn't cross-compatible

but you can find aftermarket 980tis for the same price as the reference 980ti (in fact, i usually see the reference version MUCH more expensive...)

so you can get a card that already has great cooling for $600

and welcome :)

Unfortunately its not the case in finland, refrence cards are around 750euros and custom cards are over 800euros which is rediculous.
