HDD LED - where does it connect?

I have 2 disks: 850 EVO SSD and Toshiba DT01ACA100 HDD

 

I have a HDD activity LED on my case, however I seem to have connected it wrong as it is not working. I connected it to the motherboard F_I/O pins under '+HD-'.

 

Does it connect straight to the HDD (as it has a 2 pin connector) or is it somewhere else?

It doesn't connect to your HDD (never has, never will, don't do it.)

Since it's an LED, you need to plug the positive plug into the positive pin and the negative into the negative one. You might have switched them
