Windows 10 Pro 100% disk usage

Hi all, I've got a fresh install of Windows 10 on an ssd. It started showing extreme lag like 30 seconds to a minute between actions while setting it up. When I was able to load task manager it revealed 100% disk usage with no software or anything utilizing over 1%. Essentially no software was loaded.

I installed all the latest drivers for my chipset and SATA ports (p9x79 PRO motherboard), I've verified all the latest bios and firmware were installed for the motherboard and ssd, and I've done searches online. I've tried all the non-registry edit options. I disabled the alerts that many reported being the cause, I've disabled prefetch and other similar services, with no success.

It took 5 hours to do all this bc each step to opening or installing something took close to 5 minutes.

Has anyone had this issue? I just downloaded this from microsoft's website...

The next steps are going to be another fresh install, and if that fails, then I'll try another ssd. If that doesn't do me any good, I'll complain to Microsoft, although that may not do me any good.

Never Heard of it... Maybe just something installing in the background? i have no clue to be honest. Microsoft will just put you on hold then say "have you tried turning it off and back on again?"

I wake up every morning and pray to Gayben that KSP will have 64 Bit support.

Hmm, this issue started from square one, when I originally set up Windows.  It lagged on every option including setting the correct time.

I've done multiple restarts, multiple power down and power up.  The only thing I haven't tried is registry edits and reinstalling.  The only thing I know I've done differently from installing other Windows copies esle where is that I used un-allocated space rather than formating a partition of un-allocated space.

I've asked a few other people, they suggested trying the restore/reset tool, and beyond that they said try a new install.  I'll try that and go one step further and try another SSD if that doesn't work.

Is there any way to manually download windows updates?  I'm curious if I have a bad version that was patched later on... (although it will probably take me a century to open up the updater due to the incredible lag that 100% disk load does on your system.)
