Don't buy a sound card for games, it's 100% pointless. Just get better headphones if you're not satisfied with what you have.

I agree, you wont notice much difference. If you want better sound from your games get better headphones or speakers 

does anyone know of a good asus sound card for gaming as there are quite a few and I'm not sure which one is the best

meh, i'd rather get better headphones. but if you really want a soundcard then, budget?

 

Asus Essence STX if you want a high end one

Asus DGX/DSX if you want a fairly cheap decent one.
