I5 4460 vs i3 6100 vs 8320 which is best for games like gta 5 for example.

i'd say 4460 over 6100 for the 4 cores over 2c/ht.

 

as for the 8320... if you're not absolutely sure you'll use all 8 cores, its not really worth it IMO. (unless if you're gonna OC the devil out of it)

8320 is the cpu i am currently using. Paired it with a r9 380 4gb, i get 45-60 FPS on GTA V 900p. Settings max, advanced settings all crank up to the max too. Motion blur ect all activated. Vram usage is well over 3.7 gb. Vsynac is on

The 4460 is the most logical chip to get here.

The other two are simply compromises tbh, hear me out

i3 - good chip, but only 2 cores with HT, and HT cores arent as good as 4 physical cores by any means.

FX8 - simply old, 4 modules (bleh), requires expensive motherboard if you wanna OC it a lot, probably requires a better than stock cooler (those damned AMD stock coolers)

 

The 4460 on the other hand is a true quad core, with good performance per core, and it comes in at a great price.

4460 is the best out of all of em. 4 cores > 2 cores. 8320 old architecture but great overclocker, just weak single thread performance.

 

That title though, I wouldn't be surprised if the marketing team of Intel and AMD started putting "Gaming" in their product lineups in the future.

Zen will be a gaming oriented chips. AMD will be back in the enthusiast market Q4 next year
