Battery problem on macbook pro?

So the shit has really hit the fan today. Along with pretty much all the tech I own being uncharged, and my room having electrical issues, now my macbook pro is having problems. I turned it on after trying to fix the electrical problems in my room, and it started acting weird. It started up, but then shut down again before it could finish. Then when I finally got it up, it just randomly started shutting off in the middle of stuff... When I hover over the battery icon it says service battery, which is a pretty good indication that there's a problem. It's also charging unusually fast... Is there anything I can do to be able to keep using my macbook without having to replace the battery? I really don't have the money for that(and by that I mean the money required doesnt exist in my bank account), and I can't use my desktop now. Plus my phone is out of power and cant be charged because of electrical issues in my house, and my ipad is running out of power too...

When you say issues, what kind of issues? This may have damaged your battery if the power surged or dropped or the hertz of it changed to something the charger could not handle

How many charging cycles do you have on it first at approx 1000 cycles the batteries drop off and only retain at best 80% capacity. Also by power issues were there power surges it can possibly be damaged by that if that was the case.

When you say issues, what kind of issues? This may have damaged your battery if the power surged or dropped or the hertz of it changed to something the charger could not handle

Well the electrical issue was that nothing was working. No power was coming through any outlets. I tried flipping the circuit breaker multiple times, and resetting the gfci switch, and it didnt change anything.

man my battery is rocking with 981 cycles it say service battery since a year now voltage looks good xD the life its very short now

Yeah li-po batteries really start to drop off once you get to a certain point they don't hold their charge as well.

 

Cycle count is 438.

If it's one of the newer models shouldn't really be that bad, only thing I can think of is the li-po batteries could have accidentally over discharged which is a problem. If your charger will still give it juice fully charge it some after it falls below a certain level will not charge at all, most times thinking there is a bad cell

You answered your own question. You can't rejuvenate the battery once it starts going down. Performing a full cycle occasionally helps, so running it down to 0-5% and charging it back up again. But once it's going down, it'll go down. You could opt for an el cheapo Chinese battery from eBay until you have money for a genuine unit.

Depending on which model you have some of them have less than the 1000 charging cycles, that link should have all the models and charging cycles, but yeah looks like it's about time for a new battery.
