Clean install 10 and use your Windows 7 key. Should activate with the latest ISO, but I'm not sure if it's available from MS.

Huh? I know for sure that the latest build of Windows 10 (10586) can take older keys of Windows. I know because I did a clean install of it on my Windows 8.1 laptop witout upgrading before, and it automatically detected the key in the UEFI firmware and activated with digital entitlement.

You should be able to enter your Windows 7 key during Windows 10 Setup and it would activate by digital entitlement once you connect to the internet. But you can of course instal 7 if you want.

EDIT: You can download the latest Windows 10 ISO from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/techbench

well if it wont accept the key, then i can just install windows 7, and then upgrade to 10, right? and im going to use the upgrade, not custom, i dont want to do clean install if i dont have to.

and if it boots up to windows 10, then i can just use the repair option, and that should kinda "reinstall" windows? only problem i think i will face is that i will have drivers for things i dont have on my pc anymore. does reinstalling windows get rid of all drivers? and no matter what, if i would "upgrade" from windows 10 to windows 7, windows 10 will become that windows.old folder, so i wont have 2 operating systems at same time? sorry if this seems confusing, im kinda nervous about this, i should get my new parts in 2 hours.(i5 4690k, gigabyte ga-z97x gaming 3, cryorig h7 cooler)

It does 'kinda' reinstall Windows, it's not the same as reinstalling from a DVD. And I do not recommend upgrading, if it does not accept the key during setup, skip it and enter your key after setup.
