Corsair 250D Ventilated Top?

Acquire

Has anyone tried doing something like this?  The idea would be to add a ventilated section into the front of the top panel that would run across it horizontally.  I have an MSI GTX 980 Ti Gaming in there.   Removing the top panel reduces temps down from about 84C to 72C.  It also reduces the fan speed from 92% to 67%, which is a massive noise reduction.  CPU temps seem unaffected.  The heat exhausted from the GPU at the front of the case just gets trapped in that section of the case.  I figure a simple vented top would greatly help and am wondering if anyone else has tried this.  I'm searching right now for a local metal shop that could do this.

It's viable, certainly.

Also won't be too hard, can even do it yourself.

Not sure I could do that right now with my tool kit involving just a screwdriver, a knife, and a plunger.

Ah, maybe your father has more tools?
