Hi,

I have a old PC and I wanted to upgrade the graphics card. I don't know if the new graphics are still compatible with my unit.

My MB is MSI P55-GD55 and my VIdeo Card is MSI HD 5770 Hawk. I wanted to upgrade my video card to MSI R7 250 because that is the only budget I have. Is it still compatible with my PC?

And also, I change my monitor from 17" square using DVI to 22" Samsung HDMI. Before in DOTA 2 I was getting 60-70 fps after I change I am only getting 40-50 fps high settings. Is there something wrong?

Please help.

Thanks.

That gpu should work, but i would save up for something better if you can because it won't be that much faster than a 5770. The reason why the framerate when down with a different monitor is because the gpu now have more pixels to drive and takes longer to make each frame.

If you can get a gtx 950 go for it.  A amd r9 370 is a bit slower but a big cheaper aswell.

Thanks. One more thing, what if i buy another R5770 and crossfire it, will it help? Should i be able to increase my FPS? I saw that one R5770 is cheaper.

My PC is

MSI P55a-GD55

i5-750

8 GB ram.
